The Importance of Lubrication in CNC Machine Tools

Lubrication is vital in mechanical systems to maintain the original performance of the system and to ensure its precise operation. Especially when considered industrially, lubrication in CNC machines is one of the most important factors that can directly affect the machine performance, precision, and failure. Guides, ball screws, ball bearings, etc. used in machines constantly need lubrication, since these components operate at high speeds.

In general thinking, a single axis of a CNC machine is consisting of three basic moving parts such as ball screw, axial bearings, linear guide. The guide mentioned here is divided into two basic elements as linear guide and friction guide according to the structure of the machine; this increases the importance of lubrication more and more. In addition to all these, it is seen that spindle bearings also need lubrication depending on the machine models.
